from NY Daily News:
A vandal took to the streets of west Philadelphia overnight to spread anti-police messages in protest of a man’s death earlier this week.
The graffiti artist remains elusive after targeting at least three buildings along Baltimore Avenue, which were only discovered early Friday morning.
“Cop lives don’t matter” and “F–k the cops” stated two of the messages documented by WTFX-TV, but another makes mention of Brandon Tate Brown, a 26-year-old black man shot and killed earlier this week.
“PPD killed Brandon,” the vandal wrote on a yellow brick wall along Baltimore Avenue.
Philly cops are aware of at least two instances of the anti-police graffiti and plan on having the messages removed as quickly as possible.
“At the end of the day – it’s vandalism,” Officer Tanya Little of Philadelphia Police Department told the Daily News. “That person will be charged with vandalism … if we find out who it is.”
The man mentioned in graffiti, Brown, had been killed by a Philadelphia cop during a 2:45 a.m. traffic stop over his headlights on Monday.
Following a struggle, the officer believed Brown had been reaching for a stolen handgun spotted in the car and shot him in the head, police said.
Brown’s mother, Tonya Dickerson, believes her son had done nothing wrong and was only driving home in a rental car owned by his employer, according to WPVI-TV.
The gun discovered in Brown’s car had been loaded and reported stolen in July 2013.
Brown had served about five years in prison for attempted murder and theft and had been out on parole and probation for the past two years.
