    Wet'suwet'en Solidarity Rally

    8:00 AM – 10:00 AM1701 JFK Blvd

Join Indigenous 215 & Extinction Rebellion Philadelphia as we answer the international callout for solidarity actions with the Wet'suwet'en.

We will be holding a solidarity rally Tuesday morning at 1701 JFK Blvd with speakers from Indigenous 215 highlighting the Wet'suwet'en struggle and how it relates to other fights for Indigenous sovereignty across the continent.

The Wet'suwet'en are under attack for defending their sovereignty and protecting their traditional territories. Coastal Gaslink/TransCanada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Canadian government are illegally building a liquified natural gas pipeline through unceded Wet'suwet'en territory. Because the territory is unceded, it is not part of Canada and the Canadian government has no jurisdiction without consent from the Wet'suwet'en. They have called for solidarity actions from Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities who uphold Indigenous sovereignty and recognize the urgency of stopping resource extraction projects that threaten the lives of future generations.
